Which first aid course does my workplace need?
The appropriate course depends on your workplace first aid needs assessment. Lower risk workplaces may identify Emergency First Aid at Work as suitable, while larger or higher risk environments may require employees holding the full First Aid at Work qualification. Contact AWE Training if you need help understanding the differences between the available courses.
How long is a First Aid at Work qualification valid?
A successful First Aid at Work learner will receive a qualification that is valid for three years. The qualification should be renewed before its expiry date. Annual refresher training is also recommended to help qualified first aiders maintain their knowledge and practical confidence.
How long does the Emergency First Aid at Work course take?
Emergency First Aid at Work is normally completed over one day and includes at least six hours of practical and theoretical training.
Can AWE Training provide courses for businesses?
Yes. We provide first aid training for businesses, organisations and groups as well as places for individual learners. Contact us with the number of people requiring training, your preferred course and your location.
Are AWE Training courses regulated?
AWE Training delivers regulated FAA qualifications across a range of first aid subjects. First Aid Awards is regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation. Course details clearly identify the qualification, level, duration and certification provided.
Do learners need previous first aid experience?
Many introductory courses do not require previous experience. Requalification and advanced courses may have specific entry requirements. Please check the individual course page or contact us before booking.
Will there be practical training?
Yes. First aid is a practical subject and learners should expect to take part in demonstrations, exercises and assessments during their course.
